National Film Awards 2019: Keerthy Suresh, Mahanati, Yash's KGF, Chi La Sow & other South films win big

The much-delayed announcement of the 66th National Film Awards' winners list has currently taken over the social media trend at the top number. This year, the announcement was delayed for three months due to the Lok Sabha Election 2019 and now finally, the full winners list of the prestigious awards is out. Awards given in 31 categories in feature film category have been announced by Rahul Rawail, head of the Jury. Telugu film Mahanati starring Keerthy Suresh, Samantha Akkineni among others has won the Best Telugu film award. Its celebration for the team Mahanati as the film also wins 'Best Costume Award'. Kannada star Yash's film KGF has won the 'Best Action' film award.

Keerthy Suresh has bagged 'Best Actress' award for playing the role of legendary actress Savitri in Mahanati. Director Nag Ashwin's Mahanati (Nadigaiyar Thilagam in Tamil) showcased the life of Savitri and Gemini Ganesan. The biopic revolved around the aspects of Savitri's life, played by Keerthy Suresh. Also starring Dulquer Salmaan, Samantha Akkineni and Vijay Deverakonda, Mahanati will always be a much talked about film in the history of Telugu cinema. Dulquer Salmaan played Gemini Ganesan in the film.
