Arasan: Is Silambarasan TR set to play Andrea Jeremiah’s son in director Vetrimaaran’s film? Here’s what we know

Silambarasan TR and director Vetrimaaran are currently working on their upcoming film, Arasan. Now, a new report suggests that the actor could be playing the son of Andrea Jeremiah's character in the action entertainer.
Arasan: Silambarasan TR to play Andrea Jeremiah’s son in Vetrimaaran directorial
According to Valai Pechu, Silambarasan TR is expected to play the son of Andrea Jeremiah's character in Arasan. The report claims that Andrea's portions will appear during the protagonist's childhood, making her an integral part of his backstory.
Interestingly, Andrea previously played a key role in Dhanush's Vada Chennai. Since Arasan is said to be set in the same cinematic universe, it remains to be seen how the narrative connects the two films. However, the makers have not officially confirmed these reports.
Arasan serves as a spin-off to the Dhanush starrer and features Silambarasan TR, Vijay Sethupathi, Yogalakshmi, and Chaitra J. Achar in pivotal roles. Reports also suggest that Priyanka Arul Mohan may be part of the cast, although there has been no official announcement.
The film also marks Silambarasan TR and Vijay Sethupathi's second collaboration after Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, directed by Mani Ratnam. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the film's music, marking his first collaboration with Vetrimaaran.
According to reports, Vijay Sethupathi is expected to join the shoot after completing his work on Pocket Novel.
Silambarasan TR’s work front
Silambarasan TR was last seen alongside Kamal Haasan in Thug Life. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the film explores the evolving relationship between a veteran gangster and his foster son.
The cast also includes Trisha Krishnan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Abhirami, Ashok Selvan, Joju George, Nassar, and Mahesh Manjrekar in pivotal roles. The film received a mixed response from critics and audiences.
The actor is also set to collaborate with Dragon director Ashwath Marimuthu on a fantasy action entertainer, tentatively titled STR51. Although the project was initially expected to begin after Arasan, Ashwath Marimuthu has since shifted his focus to Rajinikanth's Dharman.
According to a recent interview with STR51 producer Archana Kalpathi, the film is expected to begin production in February 2027.
