Ashwath Marimuthu to direct the Hindi remake of Ashok Selvan and Ritika Singh starrer Oh My Kadavule

Kollywood film Oh My Kadavule is all set to get a Hindi remake, and it will be director Ashwath Marimuthu, who helmed the original version of the film. The Hindi version will be written and creatively produced by 102 Not Out director Umesh Shukla, the makers announced on Tuesday. Shukla, Endemol Shine India and Mumbai Talkeez have acquired the rights to adapt the 2020 romantic-comedy. The original version of the film had Ashok Selvan of Pizza 2: Villa fame and Ritika Singh as the lead actors.

Vijay Sethupathi was seen playing an extended cameo. Oh My Kadavule revolves around two childhood friends, Anu (Ritika) and Arjun (Selvan), who decide to get married and later end up being divorced. Abhishek Rege, CEO Endemol Shine India said, “Oh My Kadavule' is a story with a simple tale and a poignant message that any audience will relate to. We are sure that this is a narrative with wide appeal that everyone will identify with and definitely want to watch.”

Ashwath Marimuthu, who will be making his Bollywood entry with the film, is currently directing the Telugu version of the movie. During several interviews, the director had said that the film is close to his heart to as it was his stepping stone into the film industry. It is reported that the makers are currently in the process of deciding the cast and the title of the Hindi version of the film.
