Athimanoharam: Mohanlal’s next film releases on December 24, 2026; Drops new poster with Meera Jasmine
Athimanoharam is the upcoming Mohanlal and Meera Jasmine starrer movie, directed by Thudarum fame Tharun Moorthy.
Athimanoharam, starring Mohanlal in the lead role, is one of the most anticipated releases from the superstar. Directed by Tharun Moorthy, the film is now officially set to release in theaters on December 24, 2026, coinciding with the Christmas holiday season.

Taking to his social media handle, Mohanlal shared an adorable new poster featuring himself alongside Meera Jasmine. Sharing the update, the superstar wrote, “His world begins and ends with the people he calls family.”

Athimanoharam features Mohanlal as a police officer. With a screenplay penned by Ratheesh Ravi, the film also marks Meera Jasmine’s return as a leading lady opposite Mohanlal after several years. She had previously made a special appearance alongside the actor in Hridayapoorvam.
The project was initially announced as L365, with Thallumaala actor Austin Das attached as the director. However, following creative changes, Tharun Moorthy took over the project, which subsequently evolved into a film distinct from its original version.
Mohanlal’s work front
Mohanlal was last seen in a lead role in Drishyam 3. The film is set after the events of the first two installments, with Georgekutty and his family once again returning to a sense of normalcy. He continues to fear that someone may disrupt the peace he worked hard to build by bringing long-buried secrets to light.
As the truth once again faces the possibility of being revealed, Georgekutty grows increasingly anxious, with several challenges closing in on him and placing him under immense pressure. Whether he manages to navigate these circumstances once again or is finally compelled to confront his past forms the narrative.
Apart from Lalettan, the film features Meena, Ansiba Haasan, Esther Anil, Asha Sarath, Murali Gopy, and several others in key roles. It is currently available for streaming on Prime Video.
Looking ahead, Mohanlal has announced projects such as L367 and a film with Priyadarshan, which will mark the director’s 100th directorial venture. The actor also has a project lined up with Joji director Dileesh Pothan.
The superstar is also expected to make cameo appearances in films such as Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 and Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer Khalifa: Part 1, which is set to release on August 20, 2026. Additionally, he will appear in his daughter Vismaya Mohanlal’s debut film, Thudakkam.
