Athiradi OTT Release: When and where to watch Basil Joseph, Tovino Thomas’ action comedy film online

Athiradi, starring Basil Joseph and Tovino Thomas, was released in theatres on May 14, 2026. Directed by debutant Arun Anirudhan, the action-comedy flick is now gearing up to make its OTT debut. Here are the streaming details.

Athiradi is slated to stream on the OTT platform SonyLIV and will be available digitally from June 19, 2026. The official update was shared by the streaming platform through its social media handle.

Sharing the announcement, the team wrote, “The rivalry you didn’t know you needed! Biggest entertainment fest of the season.”

Athiradi follows the story of Samkutty, aka Sam Boy, a civil engineering student brimming with energy and deeply in love with Swathy R. Krishna. In a turn of events, Sam takes it upon himself to revive the college’s legendary "Arohan" fest, which had been banned by the management following a stampede that occurred a few years earlier.

As Sam works to bring the fest back, he crosses paths with Sreekuttan, a former goon turned musician who was once responsible for the event being banned. As rivalry and ego clashes escalate between them, Sreekuttan reverts to his former persona, “Thotta” Kuttan, determined to put an end to the fest once again.

What the former goon does to stop the event and the chaos Sam faces in the process forms the central narrative of the film.

Cast and crew of Athiradi

Athiradi stars Basil Joseph and Tovino Thomas in the lead roles. Apart from the Minnal Murali duo, the film also features Riya Shibu, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Zarin Shihab, Shaan Rahman, Vishnu Agasthya, P. Sukumar, Shelvin James, Jeo Baby, and others in key roles.

In addition to the ensemble cast, actors Hashir H., Darshana Rajendran, Devan, and several others make cameo appearances. Moreover, Tovino’s son, Tahaan Tovino, also makes a special appearance in the film.

Directed by debutant Arun Anirudhan, the film was co-written by him along with Paulson Skaria. Basil Joseph and Ananthu S. co-produced the project under the banners of Basil Joseph Entertainment and Dr. Ananthu Entertainments, while Vishnu Vijay composed the music.

Samuel Henry served as the cinematographer, while Chamman Chacko handled the editing.
