Balti OTT Release: When and where to watch Shane Nigam, Shanthnu Bhagyaraj’s action drama online

Balti, starring Shane Nigam and Shanthnu Bhagyaraj in the lead roles, was released in theaters on September 25, 2025. Nine months after its theatrical debut, the film is now all set to stream online. Here are the OTT details.

Balti is slated to premiere on SonyLIV and will begin streaming on July 10, 2026. The official announcement was shared on the team's social media handle, which read, “Get ready for a complete ആക്ഷൻ തിരുവിഴ!” (Action Festival).

Balti is set in the town of Velampalayam and follows Udhayan aka Balti, a talented kabaddi player who enjoys a close-knit life with his friends and mother. After defeating the team of influential financier Porthamarai Bhairavan in a local tournament, the group earns his respect and is invited to represent his team in a bigger competition. Their victory strengthens their bond with Bhairavan, who gradually brings them into his finance business.

As time passes, Udhayan begins to witness the consequences of Bhairavan's operations, especially after an incident affects the family of his love interest, Kaveri. The events prompt him to question his loyalty and eventually turn against his mentor. Around the same time, a personal tragedy sets him on a path of revenge, placing him in the middle of a power struggle involving Bhairavan, Soda Babu, and the strategic G-Maa.

As rivalries intensify, friendships are tested and hidden loyalties come to light, culminating in a decisive confrontation that changes Udhayan's life forever. In the aftermath, Balti returns to kabaddi in search of a fresh start, while Kumar chooses a very different path under G-Maa's leadership.

Balti stars Shane Nigam and Shanthnu Bhagyaraj in the lead roles, alongside Preethi Asrani, Alphonse Puthren, Selvaraghavan, Shiva Hariharan, Jeckson Johnson, Akshay Radhakrishnan, Poornima Indrajith, and others in key roles. The film also marks Shanthnu's return to Malayalam cinema after 16 years, with the Mohanlal starrer Angel John (2009) being his previous Malayalam venture.

Written and directed by Unni Sivalingam, the film is produced by Santhosh T. Kuruvilla and Binu George Alexander under the banners STK Frames and Binu George Alexander Productions. Sai Abhyankkar makes his Malayalam cinema debut as the music composer, while Alex J. Pulickal serves as the cinematographer and Shivkumar V. Panicker handles the editing.

Set along the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border, the film features dialogues in both Malayalam and Tamil.
