Bigg Boss Tamil season 3 contestant Kavin Raj's mother is facing a jail term of five years in a chit fund cheating case. Not just Kavin Raj's mother but even his grandmother and aunt have to face a jail term of five years. Kavin Raj’s mother, grandmother and aunt were found guilty of cheating 29 depositors after the trio collected their money via a company located in KK Nagar in Trichy. A court in Trichy has now given the three women a jail sentence of five years.

Kavin Raj's mother A Rajalakshmi, grandmother A Thamayanthi and aunt S Rani are now facing their jail term in Trichy Central Prison. The verdict was given on August 29, by the Trichy court which gave all the three women a five years jail sentence. A case was filed against A Rajalakshmi, A Thamayanthi and S Rani at the economic offences wing of Trichy police in the year 2007. The case filed against the three women stated that a sum of Rs 32.28 lakh was collected from the 29 depositors, but the money so collected was not returned back on the date of its maturity under the chit fund scheme. Kavin Raj’s mother, grandmother and aunt have now been arrested by the police and are in Trichy Central Prison facing their jail term of five years.

A judicial magistrate court on Thursday found all the three women guilty of cheating the 29 depositors. The court has also fined the trio of Rs 2,000 each. The verdict given by the court also states that the trio has to individually pay all the 29 depositors a sum of Rs 1 lakh or else their properties will be taken into custody and will be sold off to repay the 29 depositors.
