Bigil: Vijay turns singer for AR Rahman; to croon for the first time to song titled 'Verithanam'

On Monday, producer Archana Kalpathi took to Twitter and announced that the first single of the movie is titled 'Verithanam' and will have Vijay singing to AR Rahman's music.

Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming film Bigil is months away from its release but the drama flick seems to have generated curiosity like no other. Directed by Atlee, the film will have Oscar winner AR Rahman composing its music. And to further add to the excitement, it was announced that Vijay will be crooning a song from the film which will be composed by the award-winning musician. On Monday, producer Archana Kalpathi took to Twitter and announced that the first single of the movie is titled 'Verithanam' and will have Vijay singing to AR Rahman's music.

Along with the good news, Kalpathi also shared a picture of Vijay, AR Rahman, director Atlee and lyricist Vivek. The official  announcement read, "A big thank you to our #Thalapathy from all of us (His fans) for granting our request to sing in this album Trust me the song is #Verithanam Thank you @arrahman Sir, @Atlee_dir @Lyricist_Vivek for making this happen @SonyMusicSouth #Bigil."  

Vijay's fans obviously could not keep calm and flooded Twitter with their reactions in the comments section. Check out the tweet below: 

Last month, director Atlee had taken to Twitter to share the first look of Vijay in Bigil. The film will see the actor in across different timeline. He tweeted, "Here comes my Bday gift to @actorvijay Anna. #Bigil Ennoda anna Ennoda thalapathy." 

Bigil also stars Kathir, Yogi Babu, Vivek, Daniel Balaji and Anandraj among others. Reportedly, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan will be seen playing a cameo in the film.
