It was revealed by director Ajay Gnanamuthu that the cast and crew of Cobra are back in Chennai after wrapping up their schedule in Russia. Now, new reports have come up saying that the film’s release will not happen on Ramzan as per the plan. Apparently, Ajay Gnanamuthu does not want to finish the film in a hurry and wants to take his time to deliver it with perfection. However, no official update is made on this news yet.

The film was shot in various locations including Chennai, Kerala, Europe, and Russia and it also stars cricketer Irfan Pathan as the main antagonist. KGF famed actor Srinidhi Shetty, Mrinalini, Malayalam actor Lal, Kanika, Padmapriya, Babu Antony will also be seen playing prominent roles in the highly anticipated film. AR Rahman has scored music, while Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studios has produced it. Cobra will be released in three languages including Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.

So far, the makers have revealed the title poster of the film. There were rumours which claimed that the makers were planning to reveal the first look on January 26. However, the film’s director took to Twitter and cleared the air stating that the first look will be revealed during February. Vikram, meanwhile, will be seen playing the role of Chola king Aditya Karikalan in ace director Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan. He also has in his kitty, a yet to be titled gangster flick with Karthik Subbaraja.
