Chiyaan63, the upcoming action film starring Chiyaan Vikram, recently went on floors. With Iru Mugan fame Anand Shankar taking the director’s chair, it appears that the actor may be taking home a salary of Rs 20 crore for the project.
Is Chiyaan Vikram taking a salary of Rs 20 crore for Chiyaan63?
According to industry tracker Mukil Vardhanan, Chiyaan Vikram has reportedly agreed to a salary of Rs 20 crore, which is lower than his remuneration for some of his previous films. Apparently, owing to current market trends, the actor has decided to reduce his upfront fee. Moreover, he is also expected to receive a pre-agreed share of the film’s profits. However, this remains a report for now, and no official confirmation has been made.
Chiyaan63 was recently announced with a short glimpse. The video featured a dramatic, smoke-filled setup, with Vikram’s character making a powerful entrance, accompanied by an energetic track composed by Santhosh Narayanan. Titled First Flame, the teaser indicated that production was set to commence soon, teasing what promises to be a massive action spectacle.
The upcoming film is set to feature Sarvam Maya actress Riya Shibu as the female lead. Moreover, MS Bhaskar and Urvashi are also playing key roles. While an official release date has yet to be finalized, reports suggest that the film may hit the big screens by the end of 2026 or in early 2027.
Earlier, Chiyaan Vikram had announced that his next project would be with debutant director Bodi Rajkumar. The update was shared by the production house Shanti Talkies, and the film was expected to be an action thriller. However, no further updates have emerged since then.
Moreover, there were earlier reports that the actor might collaborate with director Madonne Ashwin. However, it now appears that the project has been shelved.
Chiyaan Vikram’s work front
Chiyaan Vikram was last seen in Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2. Directed by SU Arun Kumar, the action thriller also starred Dushara Vijayan, SJ Suryah, and Suraj Venjaramoodu in key roles.
The film followed the story of a former mobster who now leads a peaceful life as a provision store owner. However, when an upright officer threatens to eliminate his former boss’s son, Kaali is forced back into a world of violence to protect his family and confront his past, leading to a tense, single-night conflict. The film is currently available for streaming on Prime Video.
