D55, starring Dhanush in the lead role, is an upcoming spy action drama directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. Now, it appears that the film may feature the Maari 2 actress in the role of a cop.

Is Sai Pallavi set to play a cop in Dhanush’s D55?

According to online buzz, as quoted by 123 Telugu, Dhanush and Mammootty’s D55 will feature Sai Pallavi in a pivotal role. The actress is reportedly set to play a cop in the film. However, no official confirmation has been made yet.

While the film’s shoot is progressing at a brisk pace, reports now suggest that its title will be unveiled this week. Initially, speculation was rife that the title would only be revealed on Dhanush’s birthday, July 28. However, it appears that the makers may unveil it sooner.

Reportedly, the film has been titled Chezhiyan, after Dhanush’s character in the movie. However, fans may have to wait for an official confirmation.

According to early reports, the film is expected to wrap up shooting by July 2026. D55 is touted to be a spy action drama, with Mammootty playing a key role alongside Dhanush. While Sai Pallavi is set to play one of the co-leads, Sreeleela is also part of the project. Additionally, Sai Abhyankkar has reportedly completed composing two songs for the film.

After wrapping up D55, Dhanush is expected to collaborate with Lubber Pandhu director Tamizharasan Pachamuthu on a Madurai-based action entertainer.

Dhaush’s work front

Dhanush was last seen in the lead role in Kara, an action thriller set in 1991 in Ramanathapuram. Directed by Vignesh Raja, the film follows Karasamy, a reformed thief who is forced to return to his old ways due to challenging circumstances in order to reclaim his mortgaged ancestral land and fulfill his father’s final wish.

Alongside Dhanush, the film stars Mamitha Baiju, KS Ravikumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Karunaas, and Jayaram in key roles. It received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics and is expected to stream on Netflix after its theatrical run.

Moreover, the actor is expected to star in a film directed by Siruthai Siva. He also has a project with Mari Selvaraj in the pipeline.

On the other hand, Sai Pallavi will next be seen in Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash.
