DC, starring Lokesh Kanagaraj in the lead role, was officially announced earlier with a teaser. Directed by Captain Miller fame Arun Matheswaran, the gangster action film is touted to be a modern-day retelling of the classic Devadas.

DC Trailer Review

The 3-minute-and-13-second-long trailer opens in Arun Matheswaran’s signature style, making use of black-and-white visuals and extreme violence. Much like his previous films, the director does not appear to be holding back on the action choreography, promising gun-filled mayhem throughout.

Apart from the action sequences, the trailer truly stands out because of Anirudh Ravichander’s background score. The theme seamlessly intertwines the violence with a classical composition layered with the musician’s signature rock undertones, capturing the best of both worlds.

From the trailer, it appears that the story will primarily revolve around Devadas and Chandra, which explains the title, DC. Devadas is revealed to be a gangster under police surveillance following a crime he committed, while Chandra is also on the run from the law after being involved in a similar incident.

With nowhere else to go, Das reluctantly takes it upon himself to keep her safe, eventually falling in love with her.

Apart from Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi, the film also stars Sanjana AK as Parvathi. Written and directed by Arun Matheswaran, the film is bankrolled by Sun Pictures. While Arun Ranjan has handled the additional screenplay, the dialogues have been penned by Arun Matheswaran and Franklin Jacob. Mukesh G serves as the cinematographer, with GK Prasanna handling the editing.

Lokesh Kanagaraj’s work front

Following the Rajinikanth starrer Coolie, director Lokesh Kanagaraj is set to helm the tentatively titled AA23. The upcoming film will star Allu Arjun in the lead role and is expected to be a stylish action entertainer.

While further details about the project remain under wraps, the film will feature Anirudh Ravichander as the music composer, marking his first collaboration on an Allu Arjun film. Additionally, reports suggest that Pooja Hegde has been cast as the female lead, although no official confirmation has been made yet.
