Dhanush is currently filming for the tentatively titled D55, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. Now, reports suggest that the actor may be joining hands with Kanguva director Siva for an action entertainer.

Dhanush to join hands with director Siruthai Siva?

According to DT Next, Dhanush is expected to collaborate with Siruthai Siva on a rural-based action entertainer. Reportedly, the actor was impressed by the filmmaker’s screenplay and has allotted dates starting from January 2027. While further details remain under wraps, the project is said to be backed by Mythri Movie Makers and could be officially announced around Pongal next year.

However, this remains a rumor for now, and no official confirmation has been made by either the actor or the filmmakers.

Director Siva previously helmed Kanguva, starring Suriya in the lead role. The fantasy action film also featured Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Natty Subramaniam, KS Ravikumar, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Ravi Raghavendra, and others in key roles.

The film follows Francis Theodore, a bounty hunter in 2024, whose connection to a young child is mysteriously linked to a promise made by a fierce tribal warrior in the year 1070. Despite generating massive pre-release hype, the film received largely negative reviews and underperformed at the box office.

Dhanush’s work front

Dhanush was last seen in the lead role in Kara, an action thriller set in Ramanathapuram in 1991. Directed by Vignesh Raja, the film follows Karasamy, a reformed thief, against the backdrop of the Gulf War between the United States and Iraq. Forced by difficult circumstances, he returns to a life of crime in an attempt to reclaim his mortgaged ancestral land and fulfill his father’s final wish.

Alongside Dhanush, the film stars Mamitha Baiju, KS Ravikumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Karunaas, and Jayaram in key roles. It received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics and is expected to stream on Netflix following its theatrical run.

Looking ahead, Dhanush’s next release will be D55, which also stars Mammootty, Sreeleela, and Sai Pallavi in pivotal roles. Reports suggest that the Bramayugam actor will complete his portions in the film during an upcoming schedule for the spy action drama.

In addition to his project with Tamizharasan Pachamuthu, Dhanush has also confirmed that he will be collaborating with director Mari Selvaraj on a grand period action venture.
