Dhanush is one of the most successful actors of the South Indian film industry. He began his journey with the 2002 hit Tamil film Thulluvadho Ilamai in which he played the role of Mahesh, the son of a poor fisherman. The film, co-written and directed by his father Kasthuri Raja, is a coming of age film which showcases the pleasures and pain of growing up. It focuses on the lives of six high-school students, three boys and three girls. That was 17 years ago.

Today, in a heartfelt post on social media, Dhanush celebrated his 17 years in the film industry thanking his fans for opening their hearts to him and having faith in him. Looking back at the roller coaster of a career he shared that he can’t believe it has been 17 years. Dhanush further showed gratitude to his friends for standing by him through good times and bad, hits and flops, success and failures.

After the success of Thulluvadho Ilamai, Dhanush delivered many hits in his career. He made his Bollywood debut opposite Sonam Kapoor in the film Raanjhanaa which was directed by Aanand L. Rai. He was last seen on screen in Maari 2, a Tamil masala film where he played the character of Maariyappan aka Maari, a fun loving gangster.

Currently Dhanush is busy shooting for Vetrimaaran’s Asuran which is a revenge thriller based on the Tamil novel Vekkai. We can’t wait to see what the actor has in store for us. For now, we wish him all the very best for his next 17 years in the industry!

An excellent actor who has influenced the lives of many individuals by his mind blowing performances.

He looks really bad. That's true but the worst part is movies are too horrible. Always stalking a fair chick.. Stalking tool she falls in love with him... They still make such bizarre stories.

This guy does not look like a hero or even a guy next door from any angle. He definitely needs to thank his fans who have been very large hearted in returning the favor.
