Dhanush reviews dad Kasthuri Raja’s latest drama movie Habeebi: ‘Proud of my father stepping into unfamiliar…’
Dhanush took to his social media handle to pen a short note for his father Kasthrui Raja’s movie Habeebi.
Dhanush recently made headlines after his film D55 was officially titled Om. Now, the actor has taken to his social media handle to share a heartfelt note about his father Kasthuri Raja's latest drama film, Habeebi.

Taking to his social media handle, Dhanush wrote, “Due to continuous shooting schedules, I was able to watch Habeebi only today. I am proud of my father for stepping into a completely unfamiliar world and living the role of Yusuf so convincingly and wholeheartedly.”
He added, “My congratulations to director Meera Kathiravan and the entire team for not only bringing out outstanding performances from my father and all the other actors but also for delivering a truly remarkable cinematic experience.” (Translated from Tamil).

Habeebi is a romantic drama that spans four decades in a weaving town near Tirunelveli. The film follows Yousuf, a traditional weaver struggling to keep his family’s handloom legacy alive. At the same time, Abu Thahir and Nilofar navigate an unspoken and enduring love story that unfolds amid changing times within their community.
Featuring Kasthuri Raja and Esha M in the lead roles, the film also stars Malavika Manoj, Dhanasree Sudhakaran, Arulkumar, Anusreya Rajan, and others in key roles. Directed by Meera Kathiravan, the movie features songs and background scores composed by Sam CS.
Dhanush’s work front
Dhanush was last seen in the lead role in Kara, an action thriller. Directed by Vignesh Raja, the film follows Karasamy, a reformed thief who is compelled by challenging circumstances to revisit his old ways in an effort to reclaim his mortgaged ancestral land and fulfill his father’s final wish.
Alongside Dhanush, the film stars Mamitha Baiju, KS Ravikumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Karunaas, and Jayaram in prominent roles. It received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics and is currently streaming on Netflix following its theatrical run.
Looking ahead, the actor is currently filming his next movie, Om. Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the film stars Mammootty, Sreeleela, and Sai Pallavi in key roles and is slated for a theatrical release on October 16, 2026.
Featuring songs and background scores composed by Sai Abhyankkar, the makers have confirmed that Om will serve as the first installment in a planned franchise.
