Did Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur call it quits after several months of dating? Here’s what we know
Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur had made quite a buzz earlier after it was reported that both the actors were seeing each other.
Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur have been making headlines for quite some time amid speculation about their alleged relationship. While neither of them ever confirmed the rumors, recent reports suggest that they may have parted ways before making anything official.
Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur part ways after dating rumors?
According to Filmfare, Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur have reportedly decided to end their alleged relationship after months of speculation. Reports suggest that the duo has gone their separate ways, although the exact reason behind the reported split remains unknown.
While neither actor ever addressed the rumors publicly, their appearances together and interactions at various events attracted significant attention from netizens. Notably, the speculation gained momentum when Dhanush attended the premiere of Son of Sardaar 2, which featured Mrunal as the co-lead.
Coming to Dhanush’s personal life, the actor was previously married to Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth, daughter of Rajinikanth. The couple tied the knot on November 18, 2004, and have two children, Yatra and Linga. After nearly two decades together, they eventually parted ways, with their separation being finalized in 2024.
Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur’s work front
Dhanush was last seen in the lead role in Kara, an action thriller directed by Vignesh Raja. The film follows Karasamy, a reformed thief who is compelled by challenging circumstances to revisit his old ways in an effort to reclaim his mortgaged ancestral land and fulfill his father's final wish.
Alongside Dhanush, the film stars Mamitha Baiju, KS Ravikumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Karunaas, and Jayaram in prominent roles. It received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics and is currently streaming on Netflix following its theatrical run.
Looking ahead, the actor is currently filming his next movie, Om. Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the film stars Mammootty, Sreeleela, and Sai Pallavi in key roles and is slated for a theatrical release on October 16, 2026.
Featuring songs and background scores composed by Sai Abhyankkar, Om has been confirmed as the first installment in a planned franchise. In addition, Dhanush has upcoming projects with directors Tamizharasan Pachamuthu and Mari Selvaraj.
On the other hand, Mrunal Thakur was last seen in a key role in Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, alongside Varun Dhawan and Pooja Hegde.
