Did Dhanush hint at collaboration with Venkat Prabhu or drop update on Om? Here’s what we know
Dhanush is expected to join hands with director Venkat Prabhu for an upcoming film, with Om being his next release.
Dhanush is set to hit the big screens next with the action drama Om, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. Now, the actor has shared a new update, leaving fans wondering whether it is related to the upcoming release or his first collaboration with director Venkat Prabhu.
Did Dhanush hint at his next project with Venkat Prabhu?
Taking to social media, Dhanush shared a new poster that read, "DxV," along with the date July 10, 2026, indicating that more details will be revealed then. Based on the initials, fans believe it could be an announcement of his much-speculated collaboration with director Venkat Prabhu.
Apparently, the film is touted to be a time travel venture that was initially planned with Sivakarthikeyan.

However, musician Sai Abhyankkar also shared the same poster, raising questions about whether the announcement is related to the new collaboration or an update on Om.
Additionally, some fans speculate that Sai Abhyankkar could be composing the music for Venkat Prabhu's next directorial, which would mark a departure from the filmmaker's long-standing collaboration with Yuvan Shankar Raja, who has composed the music for most of his films. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding these speculations.
Dhanush’s work front
Dhanush was last seen in the lead role in Kara, an action thriller directed by Vignesh Raja. The film follows Karasamy, a reformed thief who is forced by difficult circumstances to return to his old ways in an attempt to reclaim his mortgaged ancestral land and fulfill his father's final wish.
Alongside Dhanush, the film stars Mamitha Baiju, KS Ravikumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Karunaas, and Jayaram in prominent roles. It received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics and is currently streaming on Netflix following its theatrical run.
Looking ahead, the actor is currently filming Om, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. The film also stars Mammootty, Sreeleela, and Sai Pallavi in key roles and is slated for a theatrical release on October 16, 2026.
Featuring songs and a background score composed by Sai Abhyankkar, Om has been confirmed as the first installment in a planned franchise. In addition, Dhanush has upcoming projects with directors Tamizharasan Pachamuthu and Mari Selvaraj.
Reportedly, the actor is also in talks with Kanguva director Siva for a potential action entertainer. However, the project has not been officially confirmed.
