Dragon: Did Sidhant Gupta replace Tovino Thomas to play Jr NTR’s brother? Here’s what we know
Dragon, starring Jr NTR in the lead role, had unveiled its title glimpse recently, marking the actor’s first collaboration with director Prashanth Neel.
Dragon, starring Jr NTR, is slated to release in theaters on June 11, 2027. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the upcoming film is touted to be an action spectacle, with the makers unveiling the title glimpse on May 20, 2026.
As the glimpse introduced actor Sidhant Gupta, marking his debut in South cinema as Boby Sarkar, reports suggested that he was replacing Tovino Thomas. However, here’s the truth.
Is Sidhant Gupta replacing Tovino Thomas in Jr NTR’s Dragon?
According to our sources, Sidhant Gupta’s team has confirmed that he is not replacing Tovino Thomas in Dragon. The Freedom at Midnight actor will be essaying a completely different role and not the one that was initially planned for the Malayalam star.
Sidhant plays the role of Boby Sarkar, the Wazir of Afghan Trading Company (ATC), and is expected to portray the brother of Luger, played by Jr NTR.
For those unaware, Tovino Thomas was initially speculated to be part of the project. However, in a recent interaction with Telugu media, the actor confirmed that he is not associated with the film. Apparently, the Minnal Murali star decided to step away from the venture due to the extensive number of dates required for the production, which could have forced him to either postpone or drop several Malayalam projects.
