Dragon: Sidhant Gupta replaces Tovino Thomas in Jr NTR’s actioner; Report
Dragon, previously titled NTRNeel, is the upcoming action thriller starring Jr NTR, directed by Prashanth Neel.
Jr NTR starrer Dragon has taken over the internet and has been creating a buzz ever since the official glimpse was released. Now, reports suggest that actor Sidhant Gupta will be playing the role that was initially meant for Tovino Thomas.
Sidhant Gupta replaces Tovino Thomas in Jr NTR’s Dragon?
According to a report by Variety India, Sidhant Gupta is replacing actor Tovino Thomas in the upcoming action entertainer Dragon. The character, titled Boby Sarkar, is said to be Luger’s brother, with Luger being the character played by Tarak. However, this information is based on reports, and the makers have not officially confirmed it yet.
Initially, Tovino Thomas was expected to play a key role in the film. However, during a recent interaction with the media, the actor himself confirmed that he was no longer part of the project. He reportedly decided to step away due to the extensive number of dates required for the film, which would have forced him to put several Malayalam projects on hold or drop.
With the release of the glimpse, it has also been revealed that Sidhant will be playing the role of Wazir in the Afghan Trading Company (ATC), making his character an essential part of the overall plot and someone who shares a significant dynamic with the protagonist. However, more details about the plot and his character are yet to be disclosed.
For those unaware, Dragon marks Sidhant Gupta’s South Indian cinema debut. The actor, who started his career through several commercials, gradually made his mark in films and web series over the years. He has played key roles in films such as Badmashiyaan, Bhoomi, and Operation Romeo.
Moreover, his notable appearances also include Inside Edge Season 3, Jubilee, Black Warrant, and Freedom at Midnight.
