Drishyam 3 is the upcoming instalment of the Mohanlal starrer crime drama franchise, helmed by Jeethu Joseph.
Drishyam 3, starring Mohanlal in the lead role, is slated to release on May 21, 2026, coinciding with the actor’s birthday. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the film marks the third instalment in the popular crime thriller franchise.
As the film’s trailer was unveiled recently, the filmmaker shared details about what audiences can expect from the movie.

Speaking at the trailer launch, Jeethu Joseph said, “The difference between the first and second parts and the third one is that Georgekutty doesn’t know whether someone is behind him, and if so, who it is. In the first two parts, he knew that the police and the dead boy’s family were after him. But in this one, he doesn’t know who it is. I’m not saying there won’t be any elements that will surprise you.”
Recently, the trailer of Drishyam 3 revealed that Georgekutty is in emotional turmoil following the events of the first two films. As he begins questioning everything around him, a new fear starts haunting him, making him wonder whether he is truly safe anymore.
The trailer also hints at Georgekutty worrying about the consequences he may have to face for his past actions.
Alongside Mohanlal, the film features Meena, Siddique, Asha Sharath, Murali Gopy, Ansiba Hassan, and Esther Anil reprising their roles. Written and directed by Jeethu Joseph, the film is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas
The music and background score are composed by Anil Johnson, while Satheesh Kurup and Vinayak VS handle cinematography and editing, respectively.
Mohanlal’s work front
Mohanlal was recently seen alongside Mammootty in Patriot. Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, the spy action thriller revolves around a man who becomes the target of powerful forces fearing the secrets he may expose. Apart from the two superstars, the film also stars Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, Darshana Rajendran, Revathi, and Rajiv Menon in key roles.
Looking ahead, the superstar will headline Athimanoharam, directed by Tharun Moorthy. The film is said to be a cop action-comedy, with Meera Jasmine playing the female lead.
