Emraan Hashmi is one actor who never fails to entice us with his performances and he has proven his versatility and mettle as an actor over the years. Now, the actor has been roped in to star in the Hindi remake of the Malayalam blockbuster film Ezra. The film starred actor Prithviraj in the lead role. It will be presented by Kumar Mangat Pathak along with Abhishek Pathak and will be produced by Panaroma Studios. This will reportedly be the second time that the production house will be producing a Malayalam remake with the first one being the Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer Drishyam.

The film will be helmed by Jay Krishnan, who had directed the original film as well. However, the makers have not yet roped in the female lead for the film. The film will be shot in Mauritius and Mumbai. The producer of the film Abhishek Pathak called it the perfect blend of story, horror and motion. He revealed, “Ezra was a success story in Malayalam and a good story is always universal and hence we were convinced that it has the potential to appeal to the pan-India audience as it has a perfect blend of horror, story and emotion. With this remake, we look forward to work with Emraan for our third collaboration after Dil Toh Bacha Hai Ji and the untitled Amitji-Emraan film which is under-production."

Director Jay Krishnan who will be directing the film also revealed, “When Kumarji and Abhishek watched Ezra they were convinced that it needs to be retold to a wider audience and in a bigger canvas. The fresh approach to the horror genre showcased in Ezra was well received down south and the film was a blockbuster. I hope to push the envelope further with the backing of Panorama studios and the presence of an actor like Emraan Hashmi." Emraan Hashmi was last seen in the film Why Cheat India which revolved around the scams in the education system of our country.

I am a fan of his killer dialogue delivery and subtle westernish acting style. Dude just needs some luck in the box office department.

He still gets work??
