EXCERPTS FROM THE INTERVIEW:

How was your experience working with superstar Mammootty?

Not just all his fans but also I fondly call him Mammooka. it’s a gesture out of love and respect. Working with a legend like him is a dream come true.

Your experience doing a Malayalam film?

Malayalam cinema is known for the beautiful, smart and edgy content oriented cinema they create. Though it’s the most toughest Indian language, I absolutely love that part of the country. My team is supportive, encouraging and I got to learn a lot in the entire process of doing such a big film especially as my debut in south

What are the learnings from Mammootty?

Mammooka is down to earth, friendly, a very supportive and encouraging co-actor. I would say he is a wonderful human being too who takes care of the people around him. I still remember after I requested he got me some home cooked food for me on the set because I was craving it after long being away from home when we were shooting in Kochi. He treats the entire unit with Biryani once in a while and he has got amazing knowledge in the field of entertainment and you always get to learn so much interacting with him.

How do you see the changing time for regional cinema?

Mamankam is going to be a national film will be released not just in Malayalam but also in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and English. It’s been compared with Bahubali. Not exaggerating but I recently visited the sets for the main Mamankam fight built in Kochi and the one work for it is that it’s MASSIVE. It’s going to break records.. made on 20+ acre land .. it’s huge and I can’t be more happy being the leading lady for a project like this for my debut socially coming from a no entertainment background.

Mamangam is directed by M. Padmakumar and is produced by Venu Kunnappilly of Kavya Films. The film is slated to release in the last quarter of 2019
