EXCLUSIVE: Vijay Sethupathi says he was initially nervous about working with Vijay in Master
Vijay Sethupathi and Vijay shared the screen space for the first time in the college drama Master, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
The cast and crew of Master are currently on cloud 9 as the film is receiving an overwhelming positive feedback from the fans and critics. After a long wait, Master hit the big screens on January 13 as a Pongal special. The release came amidst speculations which suggested that the film may get a direct OTT release. However, in 3 weeks of Master’s theatrical release, the makers decided to give it a release in Amazon Prime. Vijay Sethupathi, who was seen as the main antagonist in the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial, got candid with us during an exclusive interview.
He said that he was happy as people appreciated for Master’s theatrical release. He added that the OTT release was for people who would not be able to go to the theatres. He said, “I am very happy because Master released in theaters and people are appreciating it. I am also happy as it is getting an OTT release too, for those who can't come to theaters.”

About his first time experience on working with Vijay, he said that he was initially nervous but later got comfortable. “When I was working with Vijay sir, I was a bit nervous but then later I got comfortable”, the 96 actor said. Apart from Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi, Master features Malavika Mohanan as the leading lady, while Arjun Das was seen in a key role. Andrea Jeremiah, Shanthnu Bhagyaraj and Gauri Kishan were the other actors who played some prominent roles in the film.
