Fahadh Faasil confirms role in 96 and Meiyazhagan director Premkumar’s thriller film; WATCH
Director Premkumar is next set to work with Fahadh Faasil for a film, touted to be a thriller.
Director Premkumar is all set to begin his next film after Meiyazhagan and is now joining hands with Fahadh Faasil. The official announcement was shared by the makers through a social media post.
Director Premkumar’s next film to be a thriller with Fahadh Faasil
In a video shared online by the makers, Fahadh Faasil was officially confirmed as the lead actor in Premkumar’s upcoming film. After the success of films like 96 and Meiyazhagan, the filmmaker is now expected to explore the thriller genre, with Fahadh headlining the project. Karuppu fame Sshivada has been cast as the female lead opposite him.

Alongside Fahadh and Sshivada, actors Chetan, Harish Uthaman, and Karunakaran will be seen in supporting roles. The film’s music will be composed by Govind Vasantha, marking his third collaboration with director Premkumar.
In an earlier interview, the director had opened up about his project with Fahadh Faasil. He said, “The genre of my film with Fahadh Faasil will be completely different from what I’ve made so far. However, the emotional depth that resonated with audiences in 96 and Meiyazhagan will still be present. This is a thriller, a story I’ve been carrying with me for the past four years.”
He further added, “Many people advised me not to venture into an action thriller since I’ve established myself as someone who tells heartwarming stories. But that was precisely the reason I wanted to make this film. When I narrated just 45 minutes of the story to Fahadh sir, he was visibly excited, and that gave me the confidence to move forward. This will be a direct Tamil film.”
Earlier, Premkumar was announced to direct a project with Chiyaan Vikram in the lead, tentatively titled Chiyaan64. However, since the Mahaan actor recently announced his 63rd project, there has been no official update yet regarding the status of Premkumar’s film with him.
Fahadh Faasil’s work front
Fahadh Faasil was last seen in a lead role in Patriot, starring alongside Mammootty and Mohanlal. Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, the spy action drama featured Fahadh in an antagonist role, while Nayanthara and Kunchacko Boban played pivotal characters.
The film is currently running in theatres and has received mixed reviews from both critics and audiences.
Looking ahead, Fafa also has films like Don’t Trouble The Trouble and Karate Chandran in his upcoming lineup.
