Idhayam Murali Trailer Review: Charming Fahadh Faasil steps in to help Atharvaa express true love
Idhayam Murali is the upcoming Atharvaa Murali starrer romantic comedy with Fahadh Faasil playing a key role.
Idhayam Murali, starring Atharvaa Murali in the lead role, is slated for a theatrical release on July 10, 2026. Written, directed, and produced by Aakash Bhaskaran, the film's makers have unveiled its trailer, offering a glimpse into an old-school romance with feel-good undertones.

The nearly three-minute trailer introduces Idhaya, a young man who is deeply in love with his classmate. Like many young lovers, however, he struggles to confess his feelings in person, setting him on an emotional journey as he searches for the courage to express himself.
As the story progresses from his teenage years into adulthood, his feelings remain unchanged, while his friends step in to help him navigate the situation. From the very beginning, Idhayam Murali appears to promise a lighthearted and charming romantic comedy, with Fahadh Faasil playing a charismatic and engaging character.

Idhayam Murali is described as a coming-of-age romantic drama centered on the theme of one-sided love. Its title references the 1991 Tamil film Idhayam, which starred the late Murali, father of Atharvaa Murali. Atharvaa had earlier clarified that the title reflects the central theme of the story and is not directly connected to his father's classic film.
That said, the trailer appears to include several subtle nods to Murali's legacy.
The film features Preity Mukhundhan and Kayadu Lohar as the female leads, alongside Natty Subramaniam, Niharika NM, Rakshan, Dravid, Angeline, Pragya, Sudhakar, Yashashree, and others in key roles. Composer Thaman S also appears in a supporting role while handling the film's music and background score.
Produced and directed by Aakash Bhaskaran under the banner of Dawn Pictures, the film has Senthilkumar Kesavan serving as co-director. The cinematography is handled by Manoj Paramahamsa and CH Sai, while Pradeep E. Ragav is in charge of editing.

Atharvaa Murali was last seen in the lead role in Parasakthi. Directed by Sudha Kongara, the film also featured Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, and Sreeleela in prominent roles.
Meanwhile, Fahadh Faasil was most recently seen in Patriot, starring Mammootty and Mohanlal. Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, the action drama featured the Aavesham actor in a prominent role. The film also starred Nayanthara, Kunchacko Boban, Zarin Shihab, and several others in key roles.
