Is Jr NTR’s NTRNeel title launch planned for midnight due to God of War announcement? Here’s what we know
Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel are all set to finally unveil the much-awaited glimpse of NTRNeel soon, amid speculation about the God of War announcement.
Jr NTR’s NTRNeel is all set to release in theaters on June 11, 2027. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the upcoming action entertainer is set to unveil its glimpse on May 20, 2026, coinciding with the actor’s birthday.
However, with the glimpse expected to drop at midnight, there appears to be another announcement planned for the same day.
Jr NTR’s God of War to be announced soon?
According to online reports, the glimpse of NTRNeel will be unveiled at midnight on May 20, 2026. As reported by Gulte, the title will also be revealed at midnight, with the makers sharing a post indicating that the announcement is just seven days away.
Reports further suggest that God of War could also be officially confirmed on the same day. Additionally, there may be an update regarding Devara 2. However, no official confirmation has been made by the team so far.
While God of War is expected to be helmed by Trivikram Srinivas, the status of Devara 2 remains uncertain, with speculation about whether the project has been shelved.
NTRNeel, reportedly titled Dragon, is said to be a large-scale action spectacle, with Rukmini Vasanth expected to play the female lead and Anil Kapoor cast in a key role. Earlier reports had suggested that Tovino Thomas might join the project as the primary antagonist.
However, in a media interaction, the Pallichattambi actor confirmed that he had to step away from the project due to his commitments in Malayalam cinema. Reports now suggest that the makers are in talks with Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor for the role, although no official confirmation has been made.
Earlier, NTRNeel was scheduled to release on June 25, 2026, but the film has now been postponed to 2027.
Jr NTR’s previous film
Jr NTR was last seen in a pivotal role in War 2 alongside Hrithik Roshan. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film serves as a sequel to the 2019 release War and is the latest installment in the YRF Spy Universe.
Apart from Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, the film also stars Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, and Varun Badola in key roles. The movie is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
