Is Sing Geetham’s OTT version going to differ from theatrical one? Here’s what we know
Director Singeetham Sreenivasa Rao’s latest movie Sing Geetham was recently released in theaters, with Kalki director Nag Ashwin serving as the producer.
Sing Geetham, the musical fantasy drama directed by veteran filmmaker Singeetham Sreenivasa Rao, was released in theaters recently. As the movie continues its run at the box office, producer Nag Ashwin has indicated that the theatrical and OTT versions will be different.
Sing Geetham’s OTT version different from theatrical one?
In a recent post-release interaction with the media, as quoted by 123Telugu, Nag Ashwin revealed that the OTT version of the film will differ from the theatrical cut. The filmmaker mentioned that during the final stages of production, the team faced some challenges and felt that the CGI work in the climax could have been better.
Apparently, he conveyed that the team is planning to refine and improve those portions before the film’s digital release, as he believes the movie will continue to be watched by audiences even a decade from now.
Sing Geetham is set in a mining village in Andhra Pradesh, where Renu and her father are looking to sell their mines, believing that further gold excavation is no longer feasible. To complete the deal, they need the signature of Pratap, the son of co-owner Uday.
Meanwhile, Gowri, a young villager, opposes the cutting down of the region’s only remaining tree for further mining activities. Ignored by everyone, she turns to the village deity Kubera and wishes that people would stop telling lies. Her prayer results in a miracle: the villagers lose their ability to speak and can communicate only through songs.
How this strange incident changes the villagers’ mindset and transforms their lives forms the central narrative.
Headlined by debutant Ayaan and Ahillya Bamroo, the film also features Shalini Kondepudi, Tulasi Shivamani, Banerjee Maganti, Agu Stanley Chiedozie, and others in key roles.
Apart from the ensemble cast, actors Vijay Deverakonda, Nivetha Pethuraj, and Rahul Ravindran make cameo appearances. The film’s songs and background score have been composed by Devi Sri Prasad.
The musical fantasy drama marks the director’s 61st film. The 94-year-old filmmaker has previously helmed several iconic films with an experimental treatment, including Pushpaka Vimana, Aditya 369, and many more.
