Rajinikanth starrer Jailer 2 is one of the most anticipated films currently in production. Now, it appears that Hrithik Roshan may have arrived in Chennai for a special appearance in the movie.

A new picture circulating online has sparked speculation that Hrithik Roshan has arrived in Chennai for the film's shoot. According to reports, the actor may be filming a cameo for Jailer 2. However, there has been no official confirmation from the makers so far.

Jailer 2 is an upcoming sequel directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, with Rajinikanth reprising the lead role. The film is expected to continue the story of Muthuvel Pandian following the events of the first installment.

Apart from the superstar, the film also features Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, SJ Suryah, and Suraj Venjaramoodu in key roles. Additionally, Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar are expected to reprise their characters in the sequel.

While the makers have yet to announce an official release date, reports suggest that the film could arrive in theaters on September 11, 2026, or later during the Diwali season.

Earlier reports indicated that the makers were considering Shah Rukh Khan for the cameo role. However, the actor was reportedly unable to take up the part due to his commitments to King. Following this, reports suggested that the team was exploring the possibility of bringing Hrithik Roshan on board for the appearance.

Rajinikanth’s work front

Rajinikanth is next expected to star in the tentatively titled Thalaivar 173. The film is being co-produced by Kamal Haasan under the banner of Raaj Kamal Films International.

Earlier reports suggested that Sundar C would direct the project. However, subsequent reports indicated that Cibi Chakravarthi had come on board as the filmmaker. While no official announcement has been made, recent reports suggest that Ashwath Marimuthu of Dragon fame may helm the project with a fresh storyline.

Looking ahead, Rajinikanth is also expected to reunite with Kamal Haasan for the tentatively titled KHxRK Reunion, which is reportedly set to be directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. The project was announced with a promotional video, while Anirudh Ravichander has been confirmed as the composer for the songs and background score.
