Filmmaker Lal Jose was all praises for Lijo Jose Pellissery's directorial called Jallikattu. The filmmaker Lal Jose said about the recently released film Jallikattu helmed by Lijo Jose Pellissery that the director has tried his best to tell a philosophy through his film and not just a story of a village. The film Jallikattu which is based on S Hareesh’s book called Maoist. The film has a man vs animal background. The film Jallikattu directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery showcases how a village goes into chaos after a buffalo escapes a slaughter house and the villagers get down to chasing the animal.

The buffalo causes a havoc in the village by disrupting the day to day life of the residents of the village. The film Jallikattu also had an impressive star cast. The film saw Antony Varghese Pepe, Chemban Vinod Jose, Sabumon Abdusamad, and Santhy Balachandran play crucial roles in the film called Jallikattu. The Angamaly Diaries actor Antony Varghese Pepe get some positive reviews from his fans and the film audience for his hard-hitting role. The film leaves the audience with a very important thought of co survival.

The film was also premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. At the TIFF 2019, the film, Jallikattu helmed by director Lijo Jose Pellissery got a thundering response from the global audience for the film's bold and sensitive subject. The film was called a very brave attempt by the director Lijo Jose Pellissery. The film hit the big screen in India on October 4. The film has been appreciated by the Indian film audiences and critics alike.
