After facing multiple roadblocks, Thalapathy Vijay's last film, Jana Nayagan is all set to release by the end of this month. Producer makes big revelation.
Thalapathy Vijay and the makers of Jana Nayagan went through hell and back to release the film in cinemas. Finally, after a roller-coaster journey involving legal standoffs and digital chaos, the highly anticipated final outing of the Kollywood star finally has a release plan. Venkat K Narayana, founder of KVN Productions, reportedly confirmed that the film will release within the next two weeks.
Jana Nayagan to release in 14 days
After missing its original festive slot in January due to certification hurdles, reports are buzzing that the makers of Jana Nayagan are now eyeing a massive summer release. On May 10, 2026, at the mega event hosted for Thalapathy Vijay, the film’s producer, K Venkat Narayana, shared an update on its release.
While speaking to the reporters at the venue, Narayan said, “We are waiting for the CBFC certificate. As soon as we get it, we will release the film.”
Mid-Day further quoted him, saying at the event, “We are very happy. A new chapter begins. I am sure he will fulfil all his promises. Jana Nayagan will release as soon as we get the certificate.”
NDTV reported that the producer also confirmed that the actor’s last movie is expected to be released in approximately 14 days. Earlier reports claimed that the film could be released on June 22, 2026, which coincides with Vijay’s birthday. Directed by H. Vinoth, the movie also stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, and Prakash Raj with music by Anirudh Ravichander.
After being tangled in the certification controversy, Jana Nayayan was unethically leaked online in April 2026. After the makers issued warnings and involved the cops in the matter, a freelance editor along with eight others accused were put behind bars. Industry stalwarts also took to social media to condemn the leak and show their support for the Leo star.
The story follows a protective guardian who prepares a young girl to face the world. In the midst of it all, he also locks horns with an antagonist, played by Deol. Jana Nayagan is being touted as a grand cinematic farewell for the superstar.
