Jana Nayagan: Thalapathy Vijay's last film producer shares an update on release date and certification
KVN Productions' Venkat K Narayana recently spoke to media and spoke about Vijay's last film.
Thalapathy Vijay’s much-awaited film Jana Nayagan continues to face delays as it remains stuck in the certification proces. The film was reportedly sent to the revising committee shortly before its originally scheduled Pongal release in January 2026, leading to an indefinite postponement. Nearly five months later, the project is still awaiting censor clearance.
Producer Venkat K Narayana shares update
During this period, several major developments surrounding the film made headlines. Apart from the prolonged delay, a part of the movie was allegedly leaked online. Recently, producer Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions addressed the media while visiting a temple. Although he initially avoided speaking in detail about the project, he later confirmed that the film is still waiting for certification.
“This is not the place to talk about Jana Nayagan. I came for temple darshan. But as I told, we’re waiting for certificate to come. I am sure that they’re going to give it anytime soon. We’ll release at the earliest. This is not the place to talk about anything else, thank you. I came here to take God’s blessings,” he said.
The producer also assured that a new release date would be announced once the censor certificate is officially received. Venkat stated, “Release date will be (announced) as soon as we get censor certificate. We’ll announce it well in advance once the censor certificate is in our hands. And we’ll release it in a grand way throughout the world."
