Jana Nayagan: Will Thalapathy Vijay’s last film release on June 19, 2026? Here’s what we know
After delays, certifications issues and an unprecedented leak, seems like Thalapathy Vijay’s last film is soon to entertain the audience in cinemas.
Thalapathy Vijay's massive fanbase went into a frenzy when major online ticketing platforms mentioned that his last movie, Jana Nayagan is set to hit cinemas on June 19, 2026. Despite the sudden appearance of a definitive date online, the audience is in confusion as neither the actor or the makers of the film have officially announced it.
Jana Nayagan gets a new release date?
Several apps suggest June 19, 2026, as the official theatrical release date for Thalapathy Vijay's highly anticipated final cinematic outing, Jana Nayagan. The buzz surrounding the June date follows recent public statements from members of the film’s team.
Recently, KVN Productions' Venkat K Narayana spoke to the media about the film while visiting a temple. Confirming that the film is still waiting for certification, he had said a couple of days ago, “This is not the place to talk about Jana Nayagan. I came for temple darshan. But as I told you, we’re waiting for the certificate to come. I am sure that they’re going to give it anytime soon. We’ll release at the earliest. This is not the place to talk about anything else, thank you. I came here to take God’s blessings.”
Venkat also added that the release date will be announced as soon as they get the censor certificate. “We’ll announce it well in advance once the censor certificate is in our hands. And we’ll release it in a grand way throughout the world,” he opined.
Reports also suggested that Vijay asked the Jana Nayagan producer to cut short his trip to the Cannes Film Festival 2026 to focus on the release of their movie. Helmed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan was slated to release on January 9, 2026, but has been delayed due to the unavailability of certification.
Apart from Thalapathy Vijay, the film also stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, Priyamani, and Sunil in key roles with music by Anirudh Ravichander.
