K. Bhagyaraj, the veteran actor and director of Tamil cinema, passed away on June 27, 2026, after suffering a cardiac arrest. Now, in a recent post on social media, the late actor's team has shared a posthumous note that appears to have sparked a debate among netizens.

Taking to his official social media handle, Bhagyaraj's team shared the actor's note, which read, “Happiness comes from making people around you happy. I have kept my eyes alive just for your loving gaze. Please take care of them,” referring to his decision to donate his eyes after his passing.
The note also carries a personal appeal regarding his son, actor Shanthnu Bhagyaraj. Thanking audiences for standing by him over the decades, the letter asks them to extend the same encouragement to his son. It adds that he hopes the applause and affection once shown to him would now become Shanthnu's blessing.
However, the internet appears to be divided over the note. Some netizens pointed out that it carried a "Made with AI" tag. They also noted that the message did not mention his wife, daughter, or grandchildren.

On the other hand, several others expressed their support for the note and wished Shanthnu success in his career in cinema.
K. Bhagyaraj predominantly worked in Tamil cinema while also directing and acting in films across other Indian languages. He wrote and directed more than 25 films and acted in over 75, earning recognition as one of the most influential writer-directors in Tamil cinema.
Over the years, he was part of several notable films. One of his final on-screen appearances was in Dhanush starrer Kuberaa, in which he played the role of a Sadhu. Apart from cinema, the actor-filmmaker was also associated with television, appearing in serials as well as reality shows.
Following his passing, several members of the film fraternity, including Thalapathy Vijay, Mammootty, and Rajinikanth, attended his funeral. Apart from his son, Bhagyaraj is survived by his wife, veteran actress Poornima Bhagyaraj, and their daughter, former actress Saranya Bhagyaraj.
