Karakkam is set to begin streaming on the OTT platform SonyLIV from July 3, 2026. Taking to its social media handle, the team wrote, “Experience Malayalam cinema’s one-of-a-kind musical horror film, where chills meet rhythm and chaos meets comedy.”

After a heavy drinking session and a hostel brawl on New Year's Eve, Karakkam follows two carefree friends, Dhanush and Khaja, as they stumble into a church cemetery. In an inebriated act of arrogance, they uproot five brass crosses from separate graves, unaware that their actions desecrate the sacred ground and awaken five restless spirits.
The enraged ghosts rise from their graves and begin relentlessly haunting the duo. In a frantic attempt to escape the supernatural chaos, Dhanush and Khaja take refuge in and around a local lodge, which soon becomes the backdrop for a series of terrifying yet comical encounters.
As the hauntings intensify, the two friends are pushed to their limits and embark on a desperate quest for redemption. To put the spirits to rest, they must find a way to undo the consequences of their reckless mistake before it is too late.

Karakkam stars Sreenath Bhasi and Femina George in the lead roles, alongside Praveen TJ, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Shaun Romy, Sidharth Bharathan, Bijukuttan, Midhutty, Manikandan R. Achari, Jean Paul Lal, and many others in key roles.
Directed by Subhash Lalitha Subrahmanian, the film was co-written by him along with Nipin Narayanan, Arjun Narayanan, and Dhanush Varghese. It was produced by Kimberly G. Trinidade and Ankush Singh under the banners Krown Stars Entertainment and Black Turtle Productions, with music and background score composed by Sam CS.
Bablu Aju handled the cinematography, while Nidhin Raj Arol served as the editor. Upon its theatrical release, the film received mixed-to-negative reviews.
