Ravi Mohan's next film, Karathey Babu, is all set to hit the big screens soon. Directed by Dada fame Ganesh K. Babu, the film is slated for a theatrical release on August 28, 2026.

Karathey Babu is scheduled to release in theaters on August 28, 2026. The official announcement was shared by the makers on their social media handles with the caption, "The wait is over. The date for the tiger's arrival is locked."

Karathey Babu revolves around Shanmugha Babu, also known as Karathey Babu, a determined man who finds himself navigating a dark and complex world after the death of a prominent figure sets off a chain of unexpected events.

Ravi Mohan plays the titular role, while the cast also includes debutant Daudee Jiwal, KS Ravikumar, Shakthi Vasu, Nasser, VTV Ganesh, Subramaniam Siva, Kavithalaya Krishnan, Pradeep Antony, Raja Rani Pandiyan, Ilan, Sam Anderson, Sri Dhanya, Sandeep Ravi Raj, Ananthi, Sindhu Priya, Ajith Ghosh, Kalki Raja, Knife Naren, and many others in key roles.

Rathna Kumar and Bakkiyam Sankar serve as the film's co-writers. Sam CS has composed the music, Ezhil Arasu K is handling the cinematography, and Kathiresh Alagesan serves as the editor.

Director Ganesh K. Babu previously helmed Dada. Released in 2023, the film starred Kavin and followed the journey of a college student who embraces fatherhood, raising his child with love and care while navigating the challenges of life as a single parent. The film received positive reviews upon its release.

Ravi Mohan’s work front

Ravi Mohan was last seen in a lead role in Sivakarthikeyan's Parasakthi. Directed by Sudha Kongara, the film explored the bond of brotherhood and a struggle against systemic injustice. Apart from the lead actors, the film also featured Sreeleela and Atharvaa Murali in prominent roles.

Looking ahead, Ravi Mohan is also part of the Raghava Lawrence starrer Benz. The vigilante action film is co-produced by Lokesh Kanagaraj and features Nivin Pauly as the primary antagonist.

The Thani Oruvan actor also has Genie in his upcoming lineup, co-starring Kalyani Priyadarshan, Krithi Shetty, and Wamiqa Gabbi. Additionally, Ravi Mohan is set to make his directorial debut with An Ordinary Man, starring Yogi Babu.
