Karthi30: Karthi officially launches next project with Meenakshi Chaudhary; Here’s what we know about film title
Karthi has officially announced his next project, tentatively titled Karthi30, directed by Mad fame Kalyan Shankar.
Karthi is celebrating his 49th birthday on May 25, 2026, with the makers of his next project dropping an official announcement. In a post on social media, the team unveiled pictures from the pooja ceremony, confirming the tentative title Karthi30.

Sharing the official update on social media, the production team wrote, “Wishing the ever-energetic and lovable Karthi a very Happy Birthday. Excited to bring him to audiences in a brand new entertainer you never saw coming. Karthi30 shoot is progressing in full swing.”
The upcoming film will feature Meenakshi Chaudhary as the co-lead, with Mad film series fame Kalyan Shankar directing the project. With the film now going on floors, the makers have also announced that the title and first look will be unveiled soon.

Karthi’s work front
Karthi was last seen in the lead role in Vaa Vaathiyaar. Directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, the film focuses on an officer who is influenced by his grandfather to adopt traits inspired by the cinematic characters of MG Ramachandran.
As a result, the officer develops an alter ego that fights against wrongdoers while masquerading as an MGR-inspired character. Apart from the Thozha actor, the film also stars Krithi Shetty, Sathyaraj, Shilpa Manjunath, and Rajkiran in key roles. The movie is currently available for streaming on Prime Video.
Looking ahead, the actor will next star in the spy action drama Sardar 2. Directed by PS Mithran, the film serves as a sequel to Sardar (2022). With Karthi reprising his dual roles, the movie also features SJ Suryah, Malavika Mohanan, and Ashika Ranganath as part of the cast. However, an official release date for the sequel has not yet been confirmed, although the makers recently dropped a new look hinting at a 2026 release.
Moreover, Marshal is an upcoming period action film set in the 1960s. The movie is being mounted on a massive scale with meticulous attention to detail. Featuring Karthi in the lead role, the film showcases him in a rugged makeover, while Kalyani Priyadarshan plays the co-lead.
Initially, it was expected that Nivin Pauly would play the main antagonist. However, the actor reportedly opted out of the role, following which Aadhi Pinisetty was roped in instead. The film will also feature Suraj Venjaramoodu and Jayaram in key roles.
Additionally, the actor is also set to headline the fourth installment in the HIT Cinematic Universe. Karthi was introduced as Veerappan in the post-credit scene of the third installment, teasing the upcoming film HIT: The Fourth Case.
