After Karuppu's delay by a day, the team of the actioner, along with actor Karthi rejoiced its special screening today with fans. Suriya and Trisha Krishnan's film has finally hit cinemas.
Suriya, Trisha Krishnan, and RJ Balaji’s Karuppu left fans and cinema lovers disappointed when the film didn’t release on the big screen on May 14, 2026, its original release date. However, earlier today on May 15, 2026, the first show of the film was finally previewed. To celebrate the film’s reviews, the cast, along with actor Karthi, enjoyed a special screening of the actioner.

After sending fans in a frenzy yesterday, actor-director RJ Balaji’s action-thriller has finally made its way to cinemas today. A while ago, Rohini Silver Screens took to their official X (formerly Twitter) handle and dropped multiple pictures from the first day, first show of the film.
The screening became special after actors Trisha Krishnan, Karthi, and director RJ Balaji joined fans and rejoiced in Karuppu’s theatrical release. The multiple images shared online showcase Trisha, who plays Preethi in the movie, posing with elated fans. Music director Sai Abhyankkar joined actor Karthi to watch the entertainer on the 70 mm screen.
Sharing the special glimpses, the Chennai multiplex wrote, “After a long wait and a hard-fought battle, #Karuppu has finally arrived at #FansFortRohini. The cast & crew-Director @RJ_Balaji, Actress @trishtrashers, Music Director @SaiAbhyankkar, and Actor @Karthi_Offl- celebrated the FDFS with fans amidst electrifying scenes at #FansFortRohini. What a Morning. What a celebration. Cinema at its finest.”

According to reports, the producers of the film encountered issues, which was the reason behind the movie on releasing as scheduled. However, after hours of discussion, they allegedly resolved the matter, and Karuppu was finally given a green signal for its release.
Superstar Kamal Haasan took to social media to announce that Suriya’s film is finally arriving. The KHxRK actor penned in his post, “Brother @Suriya_offl's film Karuppu, which faced issues from the time of its release, has now been resolved smoothly, and the film has been released today. My congratulations to Brother Suriya, the producers, director @RJ_Balaji, and the entire film crew.”
