King100: Nagarjuna Akkineni’s milestone film to have Tabu as antagonist? Here’s what we know
King100 is the tentative title of the Nagarjuna Akkineni starrer film, directed by Made in Korea fame Ra Karthik.
Nagarjuna Akkineni is currently working on his milestone 100th film, tentatively titled King100. Directed by Made in Korea fame Ra Karthik, the film will reunite him with former co-star Tabu on the big screen after 28 years.
Now, reports suggest that the actress could be playing the film's primary antagonist.
King100: Nagarjuna Akkineni starrer to have Tabu as main antagonist?
According to Variety India, Tabu is set to play the antagonist in King100, marking her much-awaited reunion with Nagarjuna Akkineni. Earlier, the Bhooth Bangla actress had announced the collaboration through her social media.
The duo was last seen together in the 1998 Telugu film Aavida Maa Aavide. Before that, they shared screen space in the 1996 blockbuster Ninne Pelladata. Tabu also made a cameo appearance in Nagarjuna's 1995 film Sisindri.
Produced by Nagarjuna Akkineni and directed by Siva Nageswara Rao, Sisindri was inspired by the American film Baby's Day Out and marked the acting debut of Akhil Akkineni.
Speaking about King100 in a recent interview, Nagarjuna described it as a "complete commercial entertainer." The film is reportedly centered on a father-daughter relationship. Reports also suggest that de-aging technology may be used to portray the actor at different stages of his life, ranging from 25 to 60 years of age.
While the makers are yet to reveal additional details about King100, reports indicate that Aishwarya Rajesh could play a significant role in the film. Sushmita Bhatt and Vijayendra are also expected to appear in pivotal roles.
Nagarjuna Akkineni’s work front
Nagarjuna Akkineni was last seen alongside Rajinikanth in Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. In the film, he portrayed Simon, a powerful underworld figure whose past brings him into conflict with the protagonist.
The film centers on Deva, a former labor union leader who is living in Chennai as the manager of a boys' hostel. When his old friend, inventor Rajasekar, passes away, Deva sets out to uncover the truth by infiltrating a powerful smuggling network operating out of the Visakhapatnam port, determined to bring those responsible to justice.
Apart from Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna, Coolie also featured Upendra Rao, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and others in key roles. Aamir Khan and Pooja Hegde also made special cameo appearances. It is available for streaming on Prime Video.
