Lenin Trailer: Akhil Akkineni pours his heart out in a gritty action role, returning to big screens after Agent
Akhil Akkineni is all set to hit the big screens once again with the movie Lenin, directed by Murali Kishor Abburu.
Lenin, starring Akhil Akkineni in the lead role, is slated to release in theaters on July 10, 2026. Directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, the action entertainer marks the actor’s return to the big screen after Agent.

In its 3-minute and 9-second trailer, Lenin follows the story of a young man caught in a world of grit and unspoken rules in a village. As he falls in love, his journey takes a dramatic turn, unfolding into a tale that grows into a massive battle.

With Akhil Akkineni in the lead role, the trailer showcases the actor balancing the intensity of action with the vulnerability of a man deeply in love. Starring Bhagyashri Borse as the female lead, the film also features Sivaji, Brahmaji, Getup Srinu, Easwari Rao, Sudharshan, and others in key roles.
Initially, Sreeleela was cast as the female lead, and the makers had even unveiled a glimpse featuring her. However, due to reported scheduling conflicts with her other projects, the actress stepped away from the film, with Bhagyashri Borse taking over the role.
Directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, the film is produced by Nagarjuna Akkineni and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi. Thaman S has composed the songs and background score, while Leon Britto serves as the cinematographer. Navin Nooli has handled the editing.
The upcoming film marks Akhil’s return to the big screen after Agent.
Earlier, Lenin was slated for release on May 1, 2026. However, the makers later rescheduled it to June 26 to avoid a box office clash with Ram Charan's Peddi, which was initially set to release on the same date. Interestingly, the Ram Charan starrer was later rescheduled to June 4 as well.

Akhil Akkineni was last seen in the lead role in Agent. Directed by Surender Reddy, the action thriller revolved around a high-stakes mission in which an unpredictable young operative becomes the key to taking down a spy.
Starring Akhil Akkineni and Mammootty in the lead roles, the film also featured Dino Morea, Sakshi Vaidya, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Vikramjeet Virk, and others in pivotal roles. However, the movie did not perform as expected with audiences or critics.
