Now, the film’s director, Vignesh Shivan, has reacted to ending Pradeep Ranganathan’s Rs 100 crore box office streak, which was built through his previous films such as Love Today, Dragon, and Dude.

Taking to his social media, Vignesh Shivan shared a heartfelt note expressing his emotions about the film’s journey and reception. He said that he had come with a huge dream, not something small or safe, believing the story would resonate with crores of people and shake the walls of cinema.
The filmmaker wrote, “I imagined applause… I saw it in the theatres. I manifested laughter - I heard it in the theatres. But still the benchmark of 100 crores wasn’t touched! I was imagining double of that to be honest.”
Vignesh Shivan admitted that while he felt the film had not fully connected with audiences as he had hoped, he was still content because its release itself felt like a blockbuster to him.
Despite receiving mixed reactions instead of the appreciation he expected, he said he remained proud of the film and the struggles behind its making. He added that the film’s seventy-plus crore earnings, especially the support that came despite doubts and reviews, felt genuine and meaningful. Concluding his note, he thanked audiences for their appreciation and criticism, saying he was continuously learning from the experience.

Love Insurance Kompany follows the story of Vasu, also known as Vibe Vassey, who hails from a village called Pasume Ulagam (“Organic World”), where people live without technology, unlike those in other cities.
While working as the voice of an advanced romance-finding app, he becomes part of a system where love is determined through algorithms, making it more about numbers and technology than emotions.
During this journey, Vasu falls in love with Dheema, even though the app predicts that their relationship will fail. As their love story begins to threaten the system, the company decides to separate them. Whether technology tears them apart or their feelings bring them together forms the rest of the film.
Apart from Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty, the film also stars SJ Suryah, Gouri G Kishan, Yogi Babu, and Seeman in key roles.
