Directed by Venkat Prabhu, Maanaadu initially ran into trouble as Simbu and the film’s producer Suresh Kamatchi had a fall out. Later, they sorted out the issue and the film’s shooting was continued in 2020. However, due to the pandemic hit, the shooting process was brought to a halt. Later, after the government relaxed the lockdown norms, the film’s shooting commenced a couple of months back. Meanwhile, Simbu was last seen in Suseenthiran directorial Eeswaran, which hit the big screens as a Pongal special.
