Madhuvidhu is slated to premiere on SonyLIV and will begin streaming from May 22, 2026. The official update was shared by the platform’s social media team, which wrote, “The wedding is locked. So is the chaos. Be there to witness it all unfold on May 22nd.”

Madhuvidhu narrates the story of Amrutharaj, aka Ammu, a café owner who lives in an all-male household called Aanjalimoottil Tharavadu in Adoor, alongside his widowed father Rajkumar and bachelor uncle Ambarish. The family is considered cursed by the villagers, resulting in 28 failed marriage alliances for Ammu.

As Ammu falls in love with the spirited Sneha Markose, a relationship blossoms between two individuals from different backgrounds. However, as the interfaith couple prepares for marriage, unforeseen circumstances, complicated family dynamics, and the looming “curse” create several obstacles. The film explores whether Amrutharaj can finally marry the love of his life and break the curse once and for all.

Madhuvidhu stars Sharaf U Dheen in the lead role, with Kalyani Panicker playing the co-lead. The film also features Jagadish, Azees Nedumangad, Amal Jose Antony, Sreejaya Nair, Anusreya Rajan, Kaumudi Kalarikkandy, Vijitha Vijayakumar, Vineeth Thattil David, Suresh Babu, Sanju Madhu, and others in key roles. The film also features cameo appearances by Bindu Panicker and Vineeth Sreenivasan.

Directed by Vishnu Aravind, the movie is bankrolled by Ajith Vinayaka under the banner of Ajith Vinayaka Films. The film’s music is composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab.

Following its theatrical release, the movie received generally positive reviews from critics.

Sharaf U Dheen’s next film

Sharaf U Dheen will next star alongside Naslen in the upcoming film Mollywood Times. Directed by Abhinav Sunder Nayak, the film is touted to be a “hate letter” to cinema, following the story of Vineeth Madhavan, a teenager from Kuttikkanam who dreams of becoming a film director. Initially slated for release on May 14, 2026, the film was later postponed to June 5, 2026.
