Actress turned politician Vijayshanti is all set to make a comeback to Telugu cinema after almost a decade. The veteran actress will be seen in superstar Mahesh Babu's upcoming film, Sarileru Neekevvaru. The two will be sharing the screen space once again after 30 years and fans are eagerly looking forward to seeing them. Meanwhile, recently in an interview, Vijayshanti spoke about the current generation actresses. The actress made a controversial remark about how the new heroines are doing nothing impressive.

In an interview to Times of India, Vijayshanti said, "Things aren’t the same now. Actors and actresses have the luxury of doing two-three movies a year, sometimes even lesser. Actresses today have the option of picking and choosing the films they want to do. And yet, I’m afraid, I don’t see these women doing anything impressive."

She went on to compare the heroines from her generation and how they worked hard back then. Speaking on the same, she said, "What has changed from then to now? The industry has changed. Their style of working has changed. They are coming and doing work, but their focus is not the same. Those days, we would work round the clock. In a day, we would work six shifts. I used to juggle from one set to the next. I would start at 5am in the morning and would sometimes finish only at 5am the next day. I would then go home, take a bath and set out again. There would be no sleep at all. We would do 17-18 films a year; such was the demand. Everyone would say 'We want Vijayashanti'..., but I would wonder, 'how many films can I possibly do?' But I tried my best."
