Patriot OTT Release: When and where to watch Mammootty, Mohanlal’s spy action drama online

Patriot, starring Mammootty and Mohanlal in the lead roles, was released in theaters on May 1, 2026. Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, the spy action drama is now set to begin streaming online. Here are the OTT details.

When and where to watch Patriot

Patriot is set to stream on the OTT platform ZEE5 after completing its theatrical run. The film will be available online from June 5, 2026. The official update was shared by the digital partner on social media, which read: “The much-awaited Malayalam spy political thriller Patriot, starring the legendary Big Ms in an intense battle of power, politics & secrets.”

Patriot follows Dr. Daniel James (played by Mammootty), a scientist who discovers that Periscope, a spyware, is being illegally used by powerful people and the private corporation Shakthi Solutions to surveil, blackmail, and manipulate ordinary citizens. After Minister Nalini Ramakrishnan warns him about the conspiracy, she is found dead under mysterious circumstances, prompting Daniel to steal the classified surveillance data and leak it online under the alias Vimathan (aka Dissident), exposing them before fleeing to London.

Two years later, Daniel continues fighting the surveillance empire through his YouTube channel, where he exposes cases linked to Periscope. His investigation leads him to the death of data analyst Jyothi Kurian, who had uncovered evidence directly connecting Shakthi Solutions to the spyware network.

With the help of his best friend and retired Colonel Rahim Naik, along with former Air Force officer Michael Devassy, Daniel launches a resistance against Shakthi Sundaram, the ambitious tech entrepreneur controlling Periscope and the son of JP Sundaram.

As public outrage grows, Shakthi’s empire begins to collapse. In the final confrontation, Daniel and Michael expose the full extent of the surveillance conspiracy cover-ups.

After Shakthi refuses to confess publicly, Daniel ends his life using the same nerve poison that was used on Nalini and Jyothi. The film ends with Daniel questioning whether history will remember his actions as those of a traitor or a patriot.

Patriot stars Mammootty and Mohanlal, marking their reunion on screen after several years. Apart from the Big Ms, the film also features Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, Revathi, Rajiv Menon, Darshana Rajendran, Zarin Shihab, and others in key roles.

Written, directed, and co-edited by Mahesh Narayanan, the spy action drama features music composed by Sushin Shyam. Cinematography is handled by Manush Nandan, with co-editing by Rahul Radhakrishnan.
