Peddi: What role does Janhvi Kapoor play in Ram Charan’s sports actioner?
In an interview with Gulte, cinematographer R. Rathnavelu revealed that Janhvi Kapoor plays a character named Achiyyamma. Her role is reportedly that of an official’s daughter, with Rao Ramesh playing her father.
Earlier, the makers unveiled glimpses of her character through first-look posters and the song Chikiri Chikiri. The visuals portray the actress in a fiery and energetic avatar with a charming personality. However, more details about her character are yet to be revealed.

Peddi is said to revolve around a cricket tournament set against a rural backdrop. Alongside Charan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles, the ensemble cast includes Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma, Jagapathi Babu, and Boman Irani, among others.
Written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the sports action drama is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru and Ishan Saksena under the banners of Vriddhi Cinema and IVY Entertainment. The film was initially scheduled to release on March 27, 2026, before being postponed to April 30. It is now officially set to hit theatres on June 4, 2026.
Recently, the team announced that the film had entered the final stages of production. A song sequence is currently being shot as part of the final schedule, and Shruti Haasan is expected to make a cameo appearance. Earlier, there were speculations that Mrunal Thakur would feature in the dance number, but it now appears that the makers have chosen Shruti Haasan instead.
The makers had earlier confirmed that the final edit had been locked, with the premiere scheduled for June 3, 2026. They also confirmed that the trailer will be unveiled on May 18, 2026.
Ram Charan’s next film
After Peddi, Ram Charan is expected to collaborate with director Sukumar for the tentatively titled RC17. Although an official announcement has not yet been made, rumors suggest that the project may be launched sometime in May or June 2026.
