Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Shiva Rajkumar are actively promoting their upcoming release Peddi. During an interaction with fans and the media in Bengaluru, the Om actor shared that he hopes Charan wins a National Award for his performance in the film.
Speaking at the event, Shiva Rajkumar said, “I wish Ram Charan wins the National Award for Peddi.”
As Peddi is slated to release in theaters in just a matter of days, Shiva Rajkumar will appear in a pivotal role as Gournaidu. From the character glimpse and trailer, it appears that he will play a mentor figure to Charan’s character.

Peddi revolves around a young and spirited man from a village who is regarded as a legend in multiple sports, including cricket, wrestling, and running. As he navigates the challenges of everyday life, he faces the biggest test of his journey and strives to make a name for himself using the talent he has honed over the years.
The sports action drama is touted as a journey of self-discovery and excellence. The film also explores themes of personal rivalry and budding romance. Alongside Ram Charan and Shiva Rajkumar, the film stars Janhvi Kapoor, Divyenndu, Boman Irani, Jagapathi Babu, and others in key roles.
Initially, the film was scheduled to release on March 27 and was later postponed to April 30, 2026. However, due to pending production work, the makers ultimately locked June 4, 2026, as the release date, especially after Yash’s Toxic was postponed.
Ram Charan’s work front
Previously, Ram Charan was seen in the lead role in S. Shankar’s action drama Game Changer. The film, which received underwhelming responses from both critics and audiences, is currently available for streaming on Prime Video.
After Peddi, Charan is expected to collaborate with Sukumar for the tentatively titled RC17. The upcoming project will mark their second collaboration following the success of Rangasthalam.
