Prithviraj Sukumaran wraps up Khalifa, gears up for I, Nobody: ‘Will meet you after...’
Prithviraj Sukumaran is next set to star in a lead role for the movie Khalifa, an action entertainer slated to release for Onam 2026.
Khalifa: Part 1, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, is slated to release in theatres on August 20, 2026. Directed by Vysakh, the film has wrapped up shooting following the completion of its Dubai schedule.

Taking to social media, Prithviraj Sukumaran wrote, “It’s a WRAP on KHALIFA! Aamir Ali will follow Rajeevan. The smuggler will meet you after the nobody! KHALIFA Part 1. In theatres worldwide from 20th August 2026!”

Khalifa: Part 1 follows Aamir Ali, a prominent figure operating a vast gold-trading network across the Middle East, London, Nepal, and Kerala. The story delves into themes of power, legacy, and family heritage, with Aamir inheriting a long-standing enterprise from his grandfather, Mambarakkal Ahmed Ali.
The film explores whether he can live up to his family's legacy while carrying forward a large-scale business empire shaped by generations of ambition and rivalry.
Directed by Vysakh, the film features Neil Nitin Mukesh in a pivotal role, while Mohanlal is set to portray Mambarakkal Ahmed Ali, hinting at a possible prequel centered on his character.
The movie is based on a screenplay written by Jinu V. Abraham, who also serves as a co-producer. It features music and background score by Jakes Bejoy, cinematography by Jomon T. John, and editing by Chaman Chakko.
Prithviraj Sukumaran’s work front
Prithviraj Sukumaran is next set to star in I, Nobody. Directed by Nisam Basheer, the heist action thriller stars Parvathy Thiruvothu as the female lead, alongside Hakkim Shahjahan, Ashokan, Vijayaraghavan, Madhupal, Shankar Ramakrishnan, Nakshathra, Aira, Nishanth Sagar, Nandhu, Noushad Bombay, Jijoy Rajagopal, Khalid Rahman, and others in key roles. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on July 9, 2026.
Looking ahead, the actor has also announced a new project with director Rahul Sadasivan. Backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, the upcoming film, titled Odiyan, is a folklore horror thriller featuring Manju Warrier as the co-lead.
While more details about the movie are yet to be revealed, it is rumored to be set against the backdrop of a mysterious shape-shifting figure whose arrival at a matriarchal household triggers a series of unsettling events.
Additionally, the actor has films such as Daayra, co-starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, in his upcoming lineup.
