Raaka: Atlee details about wanting to cast Preity Mukhundhan for Allu Arjun’s film

During a recent appearance at Idhayam Murali, as quoted by Telugu Chitraalu, Atlee confirmed that he had initially planned to cast Preity Mukhundhan in Raaka. The director revealed that he had approached her for a key role, but due to her packed schedule and prior commitments, she was unable to come on board. According to reports, the role eventually went to Minnal Murali actress Femina George.

Coming to Preity Mukhundhan's next release, the actress will be seen alongside Atharvaa Murali and Kayadu Lohar in Idhayam Murali. The film follows Idhaya, a young man who is deeply in love with his classmate. Like many young lovers, however, he struggles to confess his feelings in person, setting him on an emotional journey as he searches for the courage to express himself.

As the story progresses from his teenage years into adulthood, his feelings remain unchanged, while his friends step in to help him navigate the situation. Whether he ultimately confesses his love forms the central narrative of the story.

Apart from Atharvaa, Preity, and Kayadu, the film also stars Natty Subramaniam, Niharika NM, Rakshan, Dravid, Angeline, Pragya, Sudhakar, Yashashree, and others in key roles. Composer Thaman S also appears in a supporting role while composing the film's songs and background score.

More about Raaka

Raaka is an upcoming film starring Allu Arjun in the lead role and directed by Atlee. The big-budget entertainer is expected to make extensive use of CGI and VFX, making it a technically ambitious project.

Apart from Arjun, the film stars Deepika Padukone as the female lead. Reports also suggest that Rashmika Mandanna may play a negative role, although the makers have not officially confirmed the same. Sai Abhyankkar is composing the film's songs and background score.
