Rashmika Mandanna and Dhruva Sarja’s Pogaru: KGF director Prashanth Neel hails the film & calls it a milestone

Rashmika Mandanna and Dhruva Sarja’s Pogaru hit the big screens last week. Though the film received backlash from a particular community, it is still receiving positive responses fromthe fans. Now, KGF director Prashanth Neel has reviewed the film and he showered it with praises. Congratulating the team, Prashanth called the film a milestone. He wrote, “A great feel to watch the milestones of movie #poguru. Congratulations to #Nandakishore @iamRashmika and the entire team. @DhruvaSarja the immense love and passion you have towards your work is just amazing. You deserve every bit of the success... More to come guys”.

Directed by Nanda Kishore, Pogaru is bankrolled by BK Gangadhar under his home banner Sri Jagadguru Movies. It marked Dhruva Sarja's debut in Tollywood and Kollywood. The film was released in Telugu as Pogaru and Semma Thimiru in Tamil. Media reports suggest that the film was made on a budget of Rs 25 crore.

The film revolves around the protagonist Shiva played by Dhruva Sarja. He is seen as a rugged youth who is loved by people as he stands up for injustice. Meanwhile, following controversies, the makers have now agreed to remove 14 scenes from the film. This comes after members of the Brahmin community claimed that certain scenes were offensive. Pogaru released in theatres on February 19, 2021,  after a long wait. Apart from the lead actors, Pogaru also stars Dhananjay, Raghavendra Rajkumar, P Ravi Shankar, Kai Greene, Sadhu Kokila, Kutti Prathap and Morgan Aste in key roles.
