The #MeToo movement gathered momentum in India and many from the film industry came out to share their horrifying experiences. During Me Too Movement, Tamil playback singer-dubbing artist Chinmayi Sripaada also made some explosive revelations about a few people from the industry, including one against lyricist Vairamuthu. However, during all controversies, it was Samantha Akkineni who showed all support for Chinmayi. The Majili actress was one of the few in the film industry to back her.

In a recent interview to The Hindu, Samantha Akkineni opened up on supporting Chinamyi over her #MeToo revelations. The Majili actress said, "It was my natural instinct to support her and I'm glad I did. I've always spoken out and have had issues in the past because of that. The #MeToo movement has helped in forging a strong sisterhood where women support each other. I am proud of Chinmayi; it takes a lot of guts to do what she has done. She's been facing backlash. One shouldn't have to go through that when you've done nothing wrong. I believe that she's earning a lot of good karma and only good things will happen to her."

While she was ousted from the dubbing Union, Oh Baby director Nandini Reddy and Samantha Akkineni decided to give her a chance to dub for the Tamil version of their upcoming film. Speaking on the same, Samantha said, "On a personal note, she's been through a lot since her #MeToo story and the continuing fight with the dubbing union in Tamil cinema. Nandini, Chinmayi and I stick together and we wanted her to dub in Tamil."

Why would a person who is already famous and well established go to these lengths for "publicity"

Another publicity case ... She will get lot of attention

Publicity by losing work ? RIP logical thinking
